Do you have Storage Compartments holding water?
Do you have storage compartments in your boat that are holding water? My big front compartment was getting water in it from the guages in the front gauge panel of the boat. I opened the compartment after all the rain in June this year and there was my spinnerbait box floating in 4" of water. Of course all the towels in that compartment were molded and all the spinnerbaits and hooks on lures were rusted.
I have a high pressure washer. I put the tip of the wand in the compartment drain hole and just sprayed the water into the hole. I would stop and see if the water was draining out of the compartment. Once the water was draining out at a rapid rate, I figured I had blown all the stuff that was stopping up the drain out of the hose and into the bottom of the boat.
I did all the compartment drains of the boat. Then I went to the back of the boat and looked at all the garbage that was back there. I found caulking that had been used to attach the old transducer in the back of the boat, leaves, small gravel, and just plain muck. I learned that if I took my boat in and had them remove an old transducer and put a new one in for the new depth finder, to make sure they cleaned out all the caulking they removed. I just thought that the boat dealer would do that as I was expecting a professional job. They just scraped it all off and didn't even bother to clean any of it out of the bottom of the boat. One of my sump pumps was clogged up with all this garbage and wouldn't work any more. So, I cleaned all that stuff out of the bottom of the boat and now it actually drains the boat when I undo the boat drain at the boat dock when I get ready to go home.
