| If you're looking
for a highly-competitive fishing club, then the Bartlesville
Bassmasters may be the club for you. A member of the Oklahoma
B.A.S.S. Federation, this club holds nine regular monthly
tournaments each year and the Top Ten Championship event, with a
monthly meeting the first Thursday of each month in the Branding
Iron Room of the Dewey branch of WestStar Bank. The club's fishing
reputation and members are known statewide and the club won the
Six-Man-Team State Championship in 1996 while competing among the
state's 19 Federation-affilliated clubs. The Bassmasters have
several community-related projects from year to year including the
stocking pond operation at Hulah Lake, a CastingKids competition
at the Tulsa Boat Show and a yearly youth tournament held at Birch
Lake. Boaters (those who own boats) as well as non-boaters (those
who don't) are welcome to join, with yearly dues of $40.
Membership in the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) is
required.
A membership in the Bassmasters
enables an angler to compete in the yearly grass-roots Federation
events, used to qualify anglers for the state team. As anglers
work their way up through the qualification process to each higher
level, they are one step closer to qualifying to fish the
Bassmasters Classic, the most prestigious tournament of all.
