| Claremore
Lake is located at Claremore, Oklahoma, 2 miles East of SH-66 on
Blue Star Drive. This 470 acre lake is a low-land reservoir that
was filled in 1929. Since the initial filling in 1929, the lake
was raised 5' in 1969 causing some roads to be covered with water.
Florida strain
Largemouth Bass were stocked in Claremore Lake in the early and
mid 1980's.
There is a
water inlet in one of the West coves that supplies water from
Oologah Lake. This water inlet will be pumping water into
Claremore Lake when the Water Treatment Plant is not using the
water.
There is a
wheelchair accessible concrete fishing pier near the Lake Ranger's office
building. An enclosed fishing dock was completed in 2001 that is
located near the Lake Ranger's office building. Children under
the age of 5 are not allowed on the enclosed fishing dock and
children 5 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Leaving the
boat ramps, headed North, the first cove on the West side of the
lake is closed to boats. This
cove is very close to the boat ramps and is where the enclosed fishing dock is located.
There is a
12" - 15" Slot Limit for bass on Claremore Lake.
The deepest
part of the lake is 25' feet deep when the water is to the top
of the spillway.
There are
Largemouth and Spotted Bass in Claremore Lake. The lake record
for the Largemouth Bass is 10 lb 7 oz.
You do have to
purchase fishing permits to fish on this lake. The yearly
permits are good until December 31st of that year.
