Bag Limits Ducks:
Six, daily. May include no more than five mallards (only two may be
hens), three scaup, two wood ducks, two redheads, one pintail and
one canvasback. Pintails and canvasbacks may be taken only during
the established pintail / canvasback season (see season dates
above).
Mergansers Five, daily. May include no more
than one hooded merganser.
Coots 15, daily.
GEESE & SANDHILL CRANE
SPECIAL SEPTEMBER RESIDENT CANADA GOOSE
SEASON
September 13 - 22, 2003.
Bag Limit Three daily, six in possession
after first day.
This is a statewide, experimental hunting
season authorized by the USFWS. It is designed to provide additional
hunting opportunity and serve as a tool in managing the state s
population of locally breeding Canada geese. An increasing
population of resident Canada geese has led to increases in nuisance
and crop depredation complaints. The season will be evaluated to
determine its effectiveness in managing the numbers and distribution
of resident Canada geese. Daily bag and possession limits will be
the same as the regular season.
CANADA GEESE
November 8 - December 7, 2003; and
December 13, 2003 - February 15, 2004.
Bag Limit Three daily, six in possession after first day.
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE
November 8 - December 7, 2003; and
December 13, 2003 - February 6, 2004.
Bag Limit Two daily, four in possession after first day.
LIGHT GEESE (SNOW, BLUE & ROSS )
November 8 - December 7, 2003; and
December 13, 2003 - February 15, 2004.
Bag Limit 20 daily, no possession limit.
SANDHILL CRANE
October 25, 2003 - January 25, 2004. Hunting
allowed west of I-35 only.
Bag Limit Three daily, six in possession after first day.
