a meeting hosted by the Oklahoma B.A.S.S. Federation at the
Oklahoma Department of Wildlife's office in OKC on January 19,
2002. This meeting was to organize the anglers of Oklahoma so
that they could speak with a unified voice on matters relating
to the Oklahoma anglers.
The group is currently
deciding on a name with several choices proposed by various
Oklahoma anglers. A name should be decided on in the near
future.
There were several topics
brought up for discussion at the meeting:
- Dock Fishing
- Restocking
- Water Levels
- Access/Ramps
- Fish Care
- Funding
- Boat License
- Image/Public Enhancement
- Habitat Enhancement
- Tournament scheduling
conflicts
During this meeting, the
Executive Board was formed. Since the Tournament Directors are
the most knowledgeable people on the fishing in Oklahoma, it was
obvious that they would make the best people for the Executive
Board. The members of the Executive Board are:
- Robert Cartlidge
- Carl Woods
- Dave Roush
- Alan Daniel
- Mike Paul
- Lonnie Snodgrass
- Bob Harrell
Brenda Smith will be the
Recording Secretary / Treasurer
It was decided that the
meetings for this group should be moved around the state and
held in different cities.
