Tulsa Metro held their
third regular season tournament "The Terminator Open" this past Saturday,
May 17th at Lake Eufaula out of Eufaula Cove. Lyle Gwin and Jim Coulson,
both of Tulsa topped the 43 boat field with their limit weighing in at
12.61 lbs. Lyle and Jim also had Big Bass of the tournament with their
3.93 lb. anchor fish for a total payday of $686.
In Second Place, also with a limit, the team of Kenneth and Dale Hayes,
both of Haskell, brought 10.94 lbs to the scales, worth $365.
Third Place honors and $220 went to Ken Hathcock and Tony Shelton, both
from Sapulpa. Ken and Tony's limit weighed-in at 10.36 lbs.
Rounding out the top five spots were Matt and Leslie Carroll of Tulsa
(5-fish, 10.18 lbs), and Eric Porterfield of Tahlequah and John Shore of
Owasso (5-fish, 9.25 lbs).
Of the 43 teams fishing this tournament, 34 brought fish to the scales, 10
of those were limits, for a total of 103 bass and a total of 198.92 lbs.,
a 1.91 lb per fish average.
The next Tulsa Metro tournament "The MotorGuide/Pinpoint Open" is
scheduled for June 14 at Grand Lake out of Martin Landing. The
pre-tournament meeting will be held on Thursday, June 12th at 6:00pm at
Okiebug in Tulsa. Entries received prior to that time will be placed in
the drawing for boat position. Entries received after the drawing will be
placed at the end of the field, but will be required to weigh in with the
